What Ingredients Are in The Perfect Colostrum?
Just one ingredient – Pure Bovine Colostrum, nothing else. We use only non-defatted, whole bovine colostrum powder. No fillers or flow agents.

Are The Calves Allowed to Feed First?
Of course! Calves always feed first. Once the calves are fully fed, we then collect the excess colostrum that the cow produces in the first 24 hours.

What is First-Milking Colostrum?
Colostrum is the pre-milk liquid a mother cow provides for her calf. It is at its most pure form in the time between birth and 24 hours after birth, this is what is called First Milk, First Milking, or First Day Colostrum.

Calves are born without natural immunities so it is crucial that our farmers allow the calves to feed first, so their systems get a jump start from the high concentration of antibodies (immunoglobulins) in the initial colostrum they receive.

After the calves are fed, there is still plenty of First Milk colostrum. This is what our farmers collect as that first-milking colostrum is rich in immunoglobulins (with high IgG levels), growth factors, lactoferrin, cytokines, proline-rich polypeptides (PRPs), minerals and vitamins, and the energy-dense proteins and essential fatty acids our bodies need.

Does Perfect Colostrum exclusively use First Milk Colostrum?
Yes we do!

Some brands will use colostrum collected days or weeks after birth and this colostrum will be closer to milk and have significantly lower levels of immunoglobulins and other nutrients.

We recommend asking a brand for independent lab testing that shows their colostrum is rich in IgG, protein, and fat.

How Do You Source Your Colostrum?
Very carefully!

We exclusively source our bovine colostrum from Grade A U.S. dairy farms, who are all members of the F.A.R.M. Program. Calves are fed first and then we collect first milking colostrum, to ensure we are getting the most nutrient rich whole colostrum. Nothing added, nothing removed.

Our supplier has over 40 years of farm-direct relationships and experience and has used this time to develop a process that ensures we get only the best colostrum on the market.

Every batch is traceable to the farm and each batch of product undergoes strict internal and third-party lab analysis for purity and potency including verification of our target IgG, protein, and fat levels (see our Perfect Colostrum Fingerprint above).

In addition, the colostrum is processed in a state-of-the-art facility according to cGMP and HACCP guidelines, resulting in the most pure and potent, whole colostrum powder available anywhere.

If I Have a Milk Allergy or Sensitivity, Can I Use Perfect Colostrum?
Perfect Colostrum contains milk and < 20% lactose. If you have a milk allergy you should not use Perfect Colostrum. If you have a milk sensitivity you should consult with your healthcare provider (you can show them our lab tests) to determine if Perfect Colostrum would cause any issues.

How Much Colostrum Is In A Serving?

How Much IgG Is In a Serving?
We guarantee at least 600 mg of IgG per serving and each batch is tested to make sure we have these levels of IgG (Immunoglobulin G).

This is one of the things that separates us from our competitors. Every batch is tested, so we can guarantee 20% IgG (600 mg of IgG per serving). Other brands, when independently tested, have been shown to have widely different IgG levels from batch to batch.

Can I Add Perfect Colostrum To Very Hot Beverages?
Warm beverages are okay, but it is best to avoid anything that is very hot (over 100° F). A cow’s body temperature is 101.5° F so the colostrum and milk will come out at right about 100-104° F. Therefore, you want to avoid putting our colostrum powder in anything very hot or it could reduce some of the nutrients in the powder.

What is The Best Way to Mix the Perfect Colostrum Powder?
Our Perfect Colostrum powder is 100% pure bovine colostrum, un-defatted, with no added ingredients. This makes our product nutrient rich and potent…it also makes it a little hard to mix.

As our colostrum is non-defatted the fat content can cause some clumping if you just try to stir it up in a beverage. Mixing with a frother or blender, will knock those clumps out and give you great results. The colostrum has basically no taste, so it can be blended or frothed into pretty much anything.

You can also use a shaker cup, but you may end up with some clumps.

Is Perfect Colostrum made from Grass Fed Cows?
Yes, the cows primarily eat grass, but we want to be 100% transparent, as the term “grass fed” can have many meanings.

Our Perfect Colostrum is collected within 24 hours after the calf’s birth and ethically sourced from Grade A U.S. dairy farms. All the U.S. dairy farms are members of the F.A.R.M. Program and adhere to their standards.

As most of our farms are located in the Midwest, the dairy herds are generally fed 60-70%+ grasses and forage with plenty of pasturing. Due to harsh winter conditions, some cows may receive grain supplementation as a necessity to keep herds healthy and producing.

We understand other companies may claim 100% grass fed colostrum, sourced in the US, but this would be very, very difficult to achieve due to harsh winters and the small number of certified grass-fed farms. Less than 1% of total USDA Grade A dairy farms are certified 100% grass-fed, and those dairy farms are on the smaller side, comprising an even smaller share of the total dairy cow population.

Simply put, the math does not add up. The amount of Colostrum labeled 100% Grass-fed and US sourced far exceeds the actual amount of 100% Grass-fed colostrum that could possibly exist on the market. If a company is claiming 100% Grass Fed, you may want to ask for documentation and third party certification to back up this marketing claim.

Is Perfect Colostrum free of rBST (rBGH), antibiotics, and hormones?
Perfect Colostrum powder is made from cows that have not been treated with rBST (rBGH). In addition, our colostrum is also verified to be antibiotic free and contains no added hormones. All dairy products, including milk and colostrum, contain trace amounts of naturally occurring hormones, but our Perfect Colostrum does not have any added artificial hormones.
