Can You Tell Me More About the New Plastic Pouch?
Sure thing! Here is a quick overview…
- Uses 91% less plastic than our Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen jar
- It is made from Polyethylene (PE)
- Recycling #4 (plastic bag store drop off)
- BPA Free
- Zipper top of easy resealing
- Flat base - stand-up pouch
Is The Regular Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen Jar Going Away?
Not at this time. For now, we will have both options available for the Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen - jars and pouches.
Is There Any Difference With The Collagen, If I Get It In The Jar or Pouch?
Nope! Same great grass-fed, lab tested, pure Hydrolyzed Collagen in both packages. Both packages hold 660 grams of collagen and the price is the same.

Second, we are committed to reduce our use of plastic and creating more sustainable packaging.
Since 2019, every new product we have released is in glass. We are thrilled that it has been 6 years since we launched a product in a plastic bottle.
Still, Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen is one of our top selling products and we have been exploring ways to reduce the plastic packaging and a pouch that uses 91% less plastic is a giant step in the right direction.

The plastic jars are very solid, easy to scoop out of, and easy to close tight and store in your pantry.
For these reasons, some people will place their first order in the jar and then do reorders of the pouch, and use it to refill the original Perfect Collagen jar.

Can The Plastic Pouch Really Be Recycled?
The pouch is #4 Recycling which means it needs to be returned to a store or facility that accepts plastic bag recycling.
Is The Plastic Pouch The Best We Can Do In Terms of Sustainable Packing?
No, it is not. Honestly, we know that #4 Recycling is not very effective because it requires you to find a store that has drop off for plastic bag recycling.
The thing is, we have learned not to let perfection be the enemy of progress. This packaging uses 91% less plastic than our jars, that is a huge step in the direction of positive progress.
All that said, we know there is much more we need to do. This is why since 2020 we have been a member of OSC Packaging Collaborative, working with other pioneers in the natural products world, to develop more sustainable packaging.
