Quick Immune Supporting Smoothie Recipe
…with over 160% of your RDA Vitamin C from whole food sources!
Right now, many of you may be looking for ideas and practical methods to keep yourself and your family in the best health possible. While there is no “one size fits all” method to staying healthy and keeping your immune system in top shape, there ARE some simple, nourishing whole foods that we can add daily to give our bodies the building blocks needed to be ready for anything. Some foods naturally have antibacterial, anti-fungal, and some antiviral properties inherent within them. Please note that there has yet to be shown any definitive prevention measure against the current coronavirus (COVID-19). What we can say however, is that maintaining a healthy diet full of nutritionally dense super foods (which will be the building blocks for your immune health), good common sense habits like hand-washing, and staying calm through this trying time will be your best course of action.
This is what we are preparing in the office to boost up our own health and immunity, and thought we would share out to all of you! Here’s to staying calm, sipping on smoothies, and learning to go with the flow.

* Spirulina contains over 100 nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, enzymes, and all eight essential amino acids. Spirulina has the highest concentration of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that strengthens the immune system. Research from 2010 reported that Spirulina increased resistance to infections and viruses, and also activated the production of antibodies. Chlorella contains the Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF). In medicine a growth factor refers to a naturally occurring substance that stimulates cell growth and therefore builds up the immune system. It’s this CGF with amino acids, amino peptides, water-soluble proteins, glycoprotein, vitamins, minerals, immune polysaccharides, phyto-hormones, anti-fungal, antiviral and antibacterial substances that helps fight off nasty flus and colds.
** Bee propolis and bee pollen can offer some antiviral. Raw honey also contains bee pollen and bee propolis, which is a sticky, glue-like substance bees use to hold their hive together. Regular honey may not contain the same levels of bee propolis and bee pollen as raw honey. There are a few studies that reported the clinical use of propolis in the treatment of herpes simplex viral infections.
